About the event
GALA ESTATE WINERY
With its beautiful cool climate, Tasmania is one of the greatest wine-growing regions in the world. We understand this soil, the climate and nature. We listen to the land and give back to it. The vineyard has been an important part of sustainability on the farm. We have selected the very best vineyard site on our 4000 property. Steep, rocky ironstone with north-facing hills. Our viticulturist Marty Smith keeps an eye on vine health and Vineyard Supervisor Ricky Burrows meticulously tends to every tendril with a little help from our woolly 4 legged friends.
Gala Estate White Label Pinot Gris
Easily the best Gala PG yet!! Nashi pear, orange citrus and almond flavours—long and fine.
Gala Estate White Label Riesling
Aromas of freshly cut citrus and floral notes. An elegant pure crisp riesling. Served chilled on a hot summer day, matched with rich seafood such as as scallops or crayfish.
MAZI WINERY
Lifelong friends Toby Porter and Alex Katsaros always talked about making wine together. Alex has spent over a decade working with alternative varieties in Australia and abroad, Toby has been a winemaker at internationally acclaimed d’Arenberg for over 15 years.
In 2016 the dream came to fruition, with the release of the first Rosé under the Mazi label.
Mazi Mavrodaphne Rose
Mavrodaphne is a native Greek variety and was recently planted on a small plot in the heart of McLaren Vale. Fruits, perfumes and texture. The resulting wine has a lovely lifted nose of orange blossom, mandarin peel and faint scents of dried herbs. The acid sits vibrantly with a super fine texture and restrained palate weight. This rose is ideal for fresh seafood and other fine delicacies and cheeses.
