This year our Marsanne comes from the same vineyard that has gifted our Harcourt Syrah. There is also a fair dollop of Roussanne in the blend, from the same site. Following our previous practice with this wine, the grapes were picked fully ripe, pressed hard, and sent straight to barrel (500 and 228lt) for fermentation and aging. Malolactic was left to happen naturally. After twelve months in cask, the wine was racked to tank for an additional ten months before being bottled at the start of February 2023. It will certainly age, gaining more and more honeyed characters, but it’s delicious now. It has the same power and richness of previous releases, yet with more vibrancy thanks to the Harcourt soils and climate, and the inclusion of some Roussanne in the blend.
